Sincere sympathy to Joy and family. Fond memories of a special BOSS to the MOT boys. Great sense of humour and trust. Red wine and home brew helped the stories.

I remember John when he was a traffic officer with my Dad, Neil, in the 1970s and 1980s - calling around home for coffee and my grandmother's shortbread in Matamata. He was part of a group of men I respected highly providing policing in the South Waikato. I remember John speaking at my grandmother's funeral and I remember his sense of fun and kindness to us as kids. John, thank you for being an important part of our family story and for your kindness. We will miss you. On behalf of all of my family.
