AGE: 79 • Bayville

Paul MacDonald, 79, of Bayville, N.J. died on February 21, 2013 in Toms River. He was born January 29, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA, to John Michael MacDonald and Louise Marcella Leibrick.

Surviving are two daughters, Shannon of Howell and Dona Ana of Forked River, two sons, Joel Phillip (married to Lisa Margaret) of Bayville, and Jay Patrick (married to Arian Amanda) of Howell; two granddaughters Jenna Rose and Austen Elizabeth; three grandsons Jesse Ford, Cory Cone, and Patrick; two brothers Pete of Florida and Gilbert of Texas; twelve nephews/nieces and several cousins. He was once married to Mary Francis (Mathis) who preceded his death.

Paul was a long time resident of Bayville where he lived since leaving his childhood home in Ocean Gate. His first employment was at the Forked River Game Farm. Paul graduated from Toms River Regional High in 1952 and joined the US Army during the Korean War. He then attended the US Naval Reserve Instructor Training School at the Philadelphia Naval Yard and then attended Rutgers. Paul was a Berkeley Soccer President and Coach and helped organize and educate soccer in New Jersey for over 25 years. He was also a Bayville Scout Master of Pack 57. He retired from his company MacDonald and Son in 2006.

Paul was a fantastic artist, loved building racecars and cherished his time on the soccer field and Southern Pacific Railroad (1960-62). He also had a fondness of all animals and children - who seemed drawn to him.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on March 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. until the Ceremony at 4:00 p.m. at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. in Toms River, NJ.
