AGE: 83 • Middletown

Richard (Dick) Norman Schaeberle, 83, of Middletown, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, surrounded by loved ones, following a brief illness. Born in Attleboro, MA, he was the son of the late Norman and Georgia (Demmons) Schaeberle. Dick lived all of his life in Attleboro and North Attleboro, MA, before moving to Middletown in 2011. After attending Attleboro public schools, Dick served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1950-1953 during the Korean conflict. He was a hand engraver and also worked in the paper industry for several years, including 14 years at Hollingsworth & Vose in Walpole, MA, up until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion and the First United Methodist Church, North Attleboro, MA. Dick loved to golf and, weather permitting, he was either at the golf course or driving range every day.

Dick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn (Thomas) Schaeberle; his son, Steven Schaeberle and his wife Christine of Highlands Ranch, Co; his daughter, Kathie (Schaeberle) Brodfuhrer and her husband Douglas of Middletown, NJ; six grandchildren, Katherine, Emma, Brianna, Evan, Megan and Luke; and one sister, Betty Schaeberle of Virginia. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Barbara Schaeberle and Eleanor (Schaeberle) MacDonald. Dick was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by many.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service and celebration of his life to be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 40 Hoppin Hill Road, North Attleboro, MA. A private interment and committal service will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
