91, of Herriman, Utah passed away on 01/27/2014. Lester C. Bartlett passed away at the age of 91. He was born in Livingston, Montana, to Samuel Bartlett and Anna Topp. He married his sweetheart Joyce Turley in 1946 in Phoenix, Arizona and were later sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They are now having a joyous reunion. He is survived by four sons, Terrel (Rhonda), Barry (Janet), Sammie (Marcia), and Thomas (Joy), 29 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Elizabeth Garrison and Ruby Lovin. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, one granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was his family and he will be missed by all who knew him. A special thank you goes to Copper Ridge Health Care and Rocky Mountain Hospice. Lester served in the Army Air Force during WWII as a tail gunner on a B-25 Mitchell bomber. He flew 63 missions and received the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 stars, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 stars, and the Distinguished Unit Badge. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. Some of his favorites were Scoutmaster, Seventy, and Branch President to the Maricopa Indians in Phoenix, Arizona. Lester loved doing missionary work. He and his wife served an LDS mission to London, England, and in the St. Louis Missouri Temple. He was very artistic and was a silversmith by trade. He owned B-K Silversmiths in Phoenix, Arizona, and later 3-B Silversmiths in Gallatin, Missouri, where they made rodeo trophy belt buckles. A funeral service will be held in his honor Saturday, February 8th, at 11:00 am in the Herriman 2nd LDS church located at 12682 S. Starlight Hill Ln, (6090 west) Herriman, Utah with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment, Orem City Cemetery.
