Family-Placed Death Notice

EZZARD, Mary Mary Ezzard of Duluth, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Webster Pierce Ezzard and Doris Copper Ezzard and by her brother, Dr. George P. Ezzard. Mary, a native of Gwinnett County, GA, was born in Lawrenceville on February 9, 1940. As a life-long member of the Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church, she loved her church and had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of the first graduating class of Central Gwinnett High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia. Mary taught 3rd Grade for 30 years and retired from the Gwinnett County Public School System. She was known for her great sense of humor and for her funny superstitions. Being a great cook, Mary's pound cakes and homemade rolls were famous. She loved traveling with friends and family. Mary adored children especially her nieces and nephews. She is survived by her sisters and brothers- in- law: Martha and Charles Ashworth of Suwanee, GA; Jane and Tom DeJardin of Cumming, GA; sister- in- law: Polly Ezzard of Lawrenceville, GA; nieces and nephews: Maryanne and Rick Haddock of Lawrenceville, GA; Margaret and Scott Schuenemann of Brooks, GA; Carolyn and David Campbell of Cullowhee, NC; Karen and Dan Lambert of Suwanee, GA; Julie and Chris Adams of Charlotte, NC; Mary and Mark Zeman of Cumming, GA; Gloria and Jeff Lyon of Kennewick, WA; Casey and Len Currie of Gainesville, GA and Ryan Abbott of Honolulu, HI, numerous great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. A Funeral Service to Celebrate the Life of Mary Ezzard will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel. Interment will follow in the Shadowlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Grace Arbor Congregational Respite Program at the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville, P.O.
