U.S. Army IRAQ - Pvt. Algernon Adams of North Augusta entered into rest Tuesday, October 28, 2003 in Iraq. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 1 p.m. at First Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Willie L. James officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. PV2 Adams, a native of Augusta, was a 1985 graduate of Butler High School. He was a member of 122nd Brigade National Guard Unit, Aiken, activated in March 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Survivors are his wife, Rosa Adams; three sons, Sharod Adams, Kansas, Lachadrick Freeman, Norricco Freeman, Clarks Hill; four daughters, Arista Freeman, Louisiana, April Adams, Nonregal Adams, Augusta, Allisha Adams, North Augusta; parents, Bobby and Colopia Ann Brown, Augusta, Eugene and Naomi Adams, Philadelphia, Pa.; sisters, Dedrey Shepherd, Augusta, Naomi Adams, Nakea Fuller, Philadelphia, Pa.; brothers, Varain McMillian, Augusta, Nicholas Adams, Philadelphia, Pa.; grandmother, Lula Bell Brown, Augusta; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
