Carol Esche Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2016.

Carol passed away peacefully on October 1, 2016 at 2:16 AM after losing a 5 year battle of metastatic breast cancer. Carol is survived by her brothers - Carl and Robert Esche, Carl's wife Cathy and their two children, Carl Kurt III (C.K) and Marianne. Carol grew up in Lutherville, MD where she graduated from Goucher College with a BA. Carol then went to Cleveland, Ohio where she earned her nursing degree and later a DNP from Case Western Reserve. Carol also went to Princeton where she took various nursing courses and programs. She moved to New York City where she worked at several hospitals including serving as the VP of Nursing at NYC Methodist Hospital. During 9/11, she was one of the many medical personnel who went near Ground Zero to offer medical support. Carol left NYC to take care of her ailing parents in MD. After her father's death, she went to work at the University of Maryland School of Nursing and was an Assistant Professor and Co-director of the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) Master's program. Her final job before taking medical leave was with Medstar, Franklin Square Medical Center, where she was the Clinical Nurse Specialist for Evidence-Based Practice and Research. Carol was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus, her family, friends and her nursing profession. Carol was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens Fan and would have loved that the Orioles won the wild card for the play offs. Viewing will be held on Friday, Oct 7 at the Ruck Funeral Home on Harford Road, Services will be held at the Cub Hill Bible Presbyterian Church on Saturday, Oct 8 at 10 AM
