Joseph Cannon McGovern, Jr., age 82, died Friday, January 10, 2014 in Webster, TX. Services will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont, TX with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Mr. McGovern was born in Jasper, TX on November 8, 1931 to Joseph Cannon McGovern, Sr. and Irene Dell Wiggins McGovern. He moved to Beaumont, TX and resided in South Park until moving to Friendswood in 2011. Joe enlisted in the Navy after attending South Park High School and served during the Korean Conflict. Upon his return home he became a pipefitter and was active in the Local 195. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe & Irene and his brothers John & Jimmy. Joe leaves behind one daughter, Ginger Lee Brown and her husband Michael Glenn of Friendswood, TX. PawPaw leaves behind two grandsons; Derrick Alan Brown and his wife Emily of Pearland and Craig Michael Brown and his wife Laura of Friendswood. One granddaughter, Paula Jo Brown of Houston. PawPaw was also blessed with four great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the .
