Jacob A. Tate
21, of Hubert, N.C. and formerly of Columbus was killed in action in Afghanistan on Jan. 2, 2011. Jacob is a 2007 graduate of Gahanna Christian Academy and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps for the last three and one half years including a tour of Iraq. Jacob enjoyed many types of sports and hunting.
Jacob is survived by his parents, James and Janice (Wiant) Tate of Columbus; wife, Amy (Grant) Tate; his 4 month old son, Jax Allen Tate; sister, Jamie (Justin) Perkins; brothers, Jonathan (Margie) Tate and Joshua (Laura) Hermiz; grandparents, Stan and Grace Tate Ewing; aunt and uncle, Heather and Jeff Fisher of Canton; cousins, Jeremy, Alexander and Maxwell Fisher.
