Obituary Condolences

Stone, Bernadine L. "Peg" (Pagel) 88, born and raised in Janesville, WI, moved to Chicago in 1943 to work for the Civil Service during WWII. She went home briefly only to return to the Windy City in 1948, where she remained throughout her life. She set out with dreams and goals, proving that nothing would keep her from accomplishing them except her desire to put the needs and interests of others first. Attending Beloit College and the Chicago Art Institute, she became aware of her incredibly artistic talents and flourished in a career with Carson Pirie Scott & Co.'s display department. It was her creative eye for style and her elegant presence, though, that opened the door for her as a fashion model. She dazzled the photographers and runway on-lookers as well as one very special gentleman who knew her beauty shown just as brightly within her kind generous heart. With a mutual passion for music and dancing, she met her Prince Charming, Larry (dec.), and together, for more than 60 years, they shared an amazing spirituality and lived a love story only found in fairy tales. Their greatest pride and joy was their daughter, Dawn (Larry) Mullin and their two precious grandsons, Keaghen and Tristen, who reside in Vail, Colorado. A devoted daughter of the late Anna-Marie (Gackstatter) and William C. Pagel; loving sister of the late Wilbert (Janet, dec.) Pagel; dear aunt to four nieces, four nephews, four great-nieces and three great-nephews and doting "step-grandma". Her presence will be missed dearly but she will remain forever in our hearts. Memorial Service March 2nd at 2:00pm. Three Crowns Park, 2323 McDaniel, Evanston. Memorial gifts would be greatly appreciated by Trinity Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Ave., Wilmette, or Vail Christian High School, PO Box 2467, Edwards, CO 81632.
