Cass, Gary David 90, passed away July 11, 2014. He was born August 1, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, the only child of Gary David and Genevieve Cass. The family settled in Elmhurst, Illinois, where Gary graduated from York High School. Gary served in the United States Navy in World War II as a radar operator, aboard the destroyer escort USS Sutton (DE-771) providing convoy escort in the North Atlantic. After the war, he earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois. On June 26, 1948, Gary married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Noon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Elmhurst. Pat passed away earlier this year, on April 14th. Gary spent most of his career with the Universal Form Clamp Company, Chicago, IL, rising to President and CEO. Gary and Pat are survived by their daughter, Sharon Cass (Philip) Adams of Wheaton; and their grandchildren, Victoria and David Adams. A Memorial Mass celebrating Gary's life will be held at Our Lady's Chapel at Mayslake Village, 1801 35th Street, Oak Brook, IL, on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mayslake Village in Gary's name.
