Schimian, Ronald J. "Butch" Of Winnetka, IL and Sarasota, FL, passed on to Eternal Life after battling interstitial lung disease. Ron was born in Milwaukee, WI, graduated from New Berlin High School. In 1967, he enlisted in the Air Force serving in Vietnam in military security. After active duty, he began a career in law enforcement and served for 24 years as a Police Officer with the Winnetka Police Department. Ron took great pride in his forensic abilities as an Evidence Technician and participated in several high profile investigations. At the time of his death, he worked as security manager for the Weber Stephens Co. in Palatine, IL. Ronald joined the Masonic brotherhood in 1980 and served twice as past master of the A.O.Fay Lodge #676 in Highland Park, IL. He was a member of the Medinah Shrine, The Scottish Rite, The Knight Templar, and The Order of The Eastern Star. Ron was a proud supporter of The Shriners Hospitals for Children and, as a Medinah Aviator, flew burned children to the Shriners Burns Institute in Cincinnati, OH. Ron was proud to be an American and a passionate follower of politics. Courage and honor guided his independent spirit. He will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, and keen sense of humor. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold Schimian and Betty J. Kufahl Schimian. He is loved and missed by his life partner, Barbara Nelson of Winnetka, IL; son, Brian (Lana) of Wisconsin; daughter, Heather (Jeff) Kline of Oregon; grandchildren, Joseph and Sydney Schimian, Andrew, Makenna, and Hunter Kline.
