KINGSTON: Dale Eugene Patterson, 73, of Kingston, passed away unexpectedly on April 9, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center. Dale was surrounded by his loving wife and family.

He was born January 29, 1941 in Chillicothe, Ohio, beloved son of Earl and Evelyn Patterson. Dale was the loving husband of Virginia Carol Patterson, whom he married on January 30, 1964.

Dale is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughter, Ginger Patterson (Mansfield, OH) and his three grandchildren, Ariel Stein, Ann and Katie Shelby (of the home); he is also survived by his brother-in-law, Eugene (Betty) Carter and sisters-in-laws, Delores Fetherolf and Dorothy Coates; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Willard and Golda Carter, brother-in-laws,Edward Carter, Robert Fetherolf, and Donald Coates and nephew, Michael Coates.

He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 40 years. Dale was a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Ross Co. Shrine Club. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Green Township Fire Department for 53 years. Dale had a passion for antiques and history, was an avid reader, and had a love for cooking for family and friends. Dale experienced the greatest enjoyment when spending time with his wife and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday 2 p.m. at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston with Rev. Patmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call at Hill's Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Masonic service at 8 p.m.
