CHILLICOTHE: Rodney Alan Evans, 61, of Chillicothe, died 5:42 p.m. Saturday, August, 23, 2014 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born August 9, 1953, in Clarksburg, WV, to Richard A. and Mary Lou James Evans. On November 28, 2013, he married the former Victoria Gambill, who survives.

Also surviving are children, Dawson A. Gambill and Noah L. Cydrus, both of Chillicothe; mother, Mary Lou Rawlins, of Chillicothe; father and stepmother, Richard and Connie Evans, of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Deshawn Downs, of Troy, OH, Jaylah Nicole, of Chillicothe and Decimus and Adriana Hufferd, of Portsmouth; sisters, Serelle E. Laine, of Phoenix, AZ and Brenda Kay VanHorn, of Zanesville; a brother, Bernard Evans, of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including special friends, Katrina Hamm and Peggy Brown.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Jessica L. Hufferd.

Rodney was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Trinity Lighthouse Holiness Church and was a retired employee from Essilor of America.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Willard McCray and Rev. Stanley Kennedy officiating. Military honors will follow by the Circleville AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call at Wares from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorial contributions be made to the Ware Funeral Home, 121 W. 2nd St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
