Frank "Chico" CARRICO

Obituary Condolences

Frank, age 92. On April 4, with his family around him, Frank "Chico" Carrico, lost his battle with cancer. He is survived by his two children Sandy Carrico and Michael (Meg) Carrico; his five grandchildren; his eight great-grandchildren; his brother Charles "Ray" Carrico; and sisters Martha Hunter and Pat Carrico. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosita, and Andrew Carrico, his grandson. Frank was a farm boy, born in Louisville, KY and raised in Avon, IL. During WWII, he was stationed in New Orleans where he met his true love, Ro, at a dance. Frank became a pilot and served with the 500th Bomb Group, 73rd Bomb Wing, flying B-29s in the Pacific. After the war, he studied English, graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Knox College, earned his Master's Degree at Tulane University, and spent many happy years teaching. In 1956, Frank joined Pan-American Life Insurance Company in New Orleans, retiring in 1987 as Senior Vice President of International Operations. After Ro's death in 2002, he moved to Loveland, Ohio to be near his family, his brother Ray, and his Kentucky cousins. "It's family baby," he would say, "you got it?" Frank loved playing cards, the beach, good food, and music. He loved crosswords, parking his Lincoln, and watching Magnum P.I with his great-grandchildren. He loved people most of all. He was a grand old gentleman, and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. A Celebration of His Life will be held April 26th, 2014 at The Golden Lamb Inn of Lebanon, Ohio. He will be interred in New Orleans with his beloved wife. Memorial donations may be made to The World Wildlife Fund. Guestbook available by going to:
