He devoted time to several nonprofit boards of directors, including Christ Hospital, the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati, the Elizabeth Gamble Deaconess Home Association, the Cincinnati Business Committee's Cincinnati Public School Task Force, and the Dan Beard Council of the Boy Scouts of America. In 1994, he received a distinguished service award from the UC College of Business. Mr. Petry is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Petry; sons Thomas (Mandi), Stephen, Daniel (Jennifer) and Michael (Ashley); and nine grandchildren: Inga, Marisol, Andrei, Jackson, Elena, Alex, Sam, Palmer and Elissa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Susan Lee Petry. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Twin Lakes for their loving care of Mr. Petry during the past five years.
