Leicester/Grand Marias, MN - Mark Anthony Sluder, age 22, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 in Grand Marias, MN.

Mark was born on November 28, 1991 at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was the only son of Tony and Lynn Sluder of Blaine, Washington, and the older brother to Jennifer Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He had resided in Enka before moving with his family to Texas and was a graduate of Del Rio High School and a member of the National Honor Society. Upon graduating from high school, he continued his education at Texas A & M University. He later relocated to Blaine, Washington and pursued his degree at Washington State University, where he had also joined the United States Army Reserves. Mark was a May 13, 2014 graduate of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick,GA. He loved mountain biking with his dad at Whistler Mountain in Vancouver, Canada and snowboarding whenever and where ever he had the chance. He was proud to own a new WRX Subaru and loved listening to music, especially Taylor Swift. He was a college student, a military member, a federal officer, a great brother, the perfect son, and just a good, kind hearted person who will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Wayne Sluder.

In addition to his parents and sister, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Katherine Sluder of Leicester; uncle, Jeff Sluder of Leicester and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Chestnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church. The Reverend Bill Brown will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
