HUGHES WALMSLEY LOWRANCE, 47, an Arkansas native, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2013 in Coahoma County, Mississippi. He was born on November 24, 1965 in Memphis, Tennessee, to his mother, Arthemise Walmsley Lowrance and his father, Caldwell Davidson Lowrance. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother, Alexander Semmes Lowrance, and his sister, Kathryn Pelham Albert. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Sara Selman Lowrance, and his sons, Hughes Walmsley Lowrance, Jr. and Coleman Semmes Lowrance. He is also survived by his brother, Caldwell D. Lowrance, Jr., and many, many friends who love him dearly. Hughes attended The Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and went on to graduate from the University of Georgia, where he was the President of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. While attending the University of Georgia, he started his own business, Locos Grill & Pub. After graduation, Hughes returned to Arkansas and received his law degree from the University of Arkansas. Hughes then relocated back to Georgia to concentrate on further development of Locos Grill & Pub, which has grown into a successful multi-store restaurant franchise in the southeast U.S., and a new restaurant concept, Keba Spitfire Grill. Hughes supported many non-profit organizations including The Boys and Girls Club of America, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. He has been an active member of Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl and the National Wild Turkey Federation. His love for turkey, deer, duck hunting, fishing and the stories of hunts and fishing trips past, will be remembered and shared by his friends, all of whom considered him to be the ultimate outdoorsman. Hughes life will be celebrated beginning with a visitation Saturday, October 5 at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Communion, 4645 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, Tennessee 38117, followed by a service there starting at 4 p.m., with Reverends Don Mowery and Randolph McCloy officiating. The family requests that any memorials be made to The Boys and Girls Club of America (Athens, GA), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (Athens, GA Chapter), The National Wild Turkey Federation, and Delta Waterfowl.
