AGE: 83 • Woodbury

(nee Deery), died on February 4, 2013 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary Deery of Belfast, N. Ireland.


Beloved widow of Frank J. who died in 1969; Dear mother of Kathleen Nylund (Robert), John (Beth), Susanne Borton (Butch), and Maureen Nelson (Mark Meccariello); Loving grandmother of Pete, Nathan, Colin, Heather, Shannon, and Zachary. Mary is survived by her sisters Margaret Brannigan (Tony), Sally Thompson (Bob) of Plymouth, MA, Brothers Sean, Joe, Gerard of Ireland, Francis of Canada, and Thomas of New Zealand; Sisters-in-law Norma DiDonato and Marie Martell; Predeceased by her loving sister Philomena Conroy. Mary is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in the US, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and Australia.


Mary was born in Belfast, N. Ireland and came to Philadelphia in 1949. She was a resident of Woodbury Gardens for over 55 years and parishioner of Most Holy Redeemer parish in Westville Grove. Mary was employed at the Diocese of Camden for over 30 years, until her retirement at the age of 71. Upon her retirement, Mary was awarded the Bishop's Medal for Meritorious Service by Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio.

Visitation Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 am at Holy Angels Parish at Most Holy Redeemer RC Church, 1219 Delsea Dr., Westville Grove, NJ 08093; Funeral Mass 11:00 am; Interment New St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Bellmawr
