CLAYTON, Robert Bruce "Bob" age 68, of Centerville, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Bob was a graduate of Eaton High School. He received his BA from The Ohio State University in 1968 and was commissioned in the Air Force upon graduation. He received his JD from The Ohio State University in 1971. Bob was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and ROTC. Bob practiced law in the Air Force, where he achieved the rank of captain. After leaving the Air Force, he continued his government career as a civilian attorney at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Bob had a strong appreciation for and devotion to his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes. He always eagerly anticipated the OSU football and basketball seasons. He had an avid interest in and knowledge of history; he was particularly well-read in all areas of American history. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Betty Jo and Dr. William Scott Clayton, and infant brother, James. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Veronica; son and daughter-in-law Bruce and Lynn of Bellbrook; daughter and son-in-law Anne and Victor Burpee of Tecumseh, Michigan; daughter and son-in-law Katherine and Seann DiBari of Columbus; grandchildren Ashley and Addison Clayton, AvaJane and Vann Burpee, and Dexter DiBari; brother and sister-in-law Dr. William Scott Clayton II and Nancy of Eaton; sister and brother-in-law Betsy and Dr. Alan Brubaker of Cincinnati; sister and brother-in-law Barbara and Dr. John Wehrley of Hendersonville, North Carolina; uncle Dr. Dick Nisbet of Middletown; numerous nieces and nephews. Bob attended Fairhaven Church, through which a private memorial service will take place in the spring. Bob was a kidney-pancreas organ transplant recipient.
