HOWELL, Norma Jean Age 63, of Huber Heights, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her residence. Norma Jean was a physics teacher in the Huber Heights School System for 13 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering in 1978 & Master of Education in 1987 from Wright State University. Norma Jean received the Milken Educator Award in 1999 and was the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow in 2001 2002 working for 9 months on Capitol Hill. Norma Jean was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, an animal lover, enjoyed crafts, making custom photo albums and designing flower arrangements. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margot C. Grandfield. Norma Jean is survived by her beloved husband, Edwin I.; father, Robert J. Grandfield of Huber Heights; sons & daughters-in-law, David & Kylie Howell of IL, Thomas G. Howell & Linda J. Moore of Lebanon; sister, Barbara Grandfield; brother Robert Grandfield III both of Huber Heights; several nieces & nephews and a host of friends. Mass of the Christian Burial 11:30 AM Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road. Interment Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield. The family will receive friends at Marker & Heller Funeral Home, Huber Heights Chapel, 5844 Old Troy Pike from 5-8 PM Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund or the American Cancer Society in Norma Jean's memory.

We will treasure all of the times that you and Norma spent in Canada with us. We were so grateful to share so many good times with the both of you. We know Norma is in heaven looking down on us, and she will always be a part of your visits up north. We are truly sorry to hear of Norma's passing and we send our deepest sympathy.
