Howard Nelson Hagan was born on May 2, 1943, in Louisville, KY and went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2013, in Pasadena, TX. He proudly served in the Unites States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1964-1968. Howard was employed by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office as a Toxicologist from 1972-1974, a Chemist for Phillips 66 from 1974-1989 and retired from Pasadena Refining System, Inc. as a Chemist from 1989-2008. He enjoyed golfing which he shot a Double Eagle at Battleground Golf Corse; won 2 gold medals in basketball at the Senior Olympics; enjoyed reading; listening to Elvis Presley; and most importantly being "Pe Paw" to his grandchildren. Howard is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Hagan; father-in-law, Lloyd Kirksey; sister, Mary Hall; and brothers, Bobby, Joe and Jim Hagan. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Paula Kirksey Hagan; sons, Kirk Hagan and wife Lindsay of Deer Park, TX and Craig Hagan and wife Victoria of Perth, Australia; daughter, Kacey Cliburn and husband Chad of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Sean Hagan, Ethan Cook, Samantha Hagan, Carter Hagan, Miles Hagan, Grant Cliburn and Lauren Hagan; mother-in-law, Mildred Kirksey of La Porte, TX; sisters, Irene Raley and Lucille Campbell of Louisville, KY; brother and sisters-in-law, Charles and Bettie Tolar of Pasadena, TX, Jeanine Medley of Pasadena, TX, Greg and Pam Bonneau of Belton, TX and Mark and Dianne Piller of The Colony, TX and numerous loving family members and friends.
