Ann E. Luquette died on December, 1, 2013, aged 56, at Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE, following complications from dementia.

Born in Detroit, MI, April 11, 1957, Annie spent much of her childhood in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Annie graduated with a BS in English from Kutztown University, Masters Equivalency in Elementary Education from Penn State University, and her M.Ed in Elementary Education from the University of Delaware.

Annie taught children in the fourth grade at Littlestown Elementary School in Littlestown, PA and Westtown-Thornbury Elementary School in West Chester, PA and later became the gifted resource teacher in the West Chester Area School District in Pennsylvania.

Annie was passionate about teaching children. She won the "Heart Award" for the West Chester Area School District for her compassion and dedication to her students. Annie enjoyed reading on the beach in Lewes or on her front porch in Milton, DE. Annie also enjoyed writing stories and poems for children, hiking, bike riding, pool aerobics, yoga and photography. Annie's award winning photographs portraying her love of nature, children and family life are cherished by her many friends and family.

Annie met her life partner Nancy in 1997 in Newark, DE. Together they enjoyed a life filled with joy, exploring nature, literature, art, history, culture and music always with an eye for sharing the world with the children in their care.

Annie's parents, Norman and Helen Luquette and her brothers, Norman, Bill and Bob Luquette, predeceased her.

Annie is survived by her life partner, Nancy Jane Edwards of Milton, DE, her nieces and nephews, Andrea, Joey, Bill, Matt, Brandon, Phillip and Michelle Luquette, her sister, Mary Luquette, her brothers, Ken, Gary, Dennis, Richard Luquette and sister-in-law, Sue Luquette.

There are so many people who will miss Annie's kindness and her gentle loving spirit. To honor Annie, there will be a burial at Goshen Cemetery, Chestnut St, Milton, DE, beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by Celebration of Annie's Life held at the Goshen Hall in Milton, DE on April 5, 2014.
