Nicholas M. Marsini, Sr.

AGE: 86 • Wilmington

Nicholas M. Marsini, Sr. passed away on April 19, 2014.

He was born in Philadelphia, PA and a graduate of Southeast Catholic High School and the University of Pennsylvania. Nick was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen R.C. Church and was also Past Grand Knight of Bishop Curtis Council # 1862 Knights of Columbus. Nick was the Managing Director of Acacia Financial Group until his retirement in 1988. He was the recipient of the Charles B. Palmer Award given annually to a Delaware Financial Services professional for distinguished service to the industry. Nick was past president of the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, GAMA, and the Delaware Association of CLU. He remained active in the Millay Club of St. John Neumann High School.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Grace Marsini and his parents, Serafino and Josephine Marsini; his brothers Nicholas, Carl and Alfred. Nick is survived by his sons Nick, Jr. (Julia); Robert; and John (Colleen) as well as his four dear grandchildren Nicholas III, Carl, Kaitlin Grace and Andrew.

A special mention of thanks to Dr. Ben Silverman and the staff at the Cardiac CCU at Christiana Hospital, as well as Dr. Prayus T. Tailor and the wonderful people at Fresenius Medical Care of Christiana for their love, compassion and care during Nick's illness.

Friends may call on Wedneday, April 23, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road) Wilm., DE 19803 (Additional parking available at the Brandywine YMCA with a connecting path to the funeral home). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 24th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen R. C. Church, 9 Sharpley Road, Wilm., DE 19803. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Magdalen Church or to Salesianum School Development Office, in memory of Nick, 1801 N. Broom St. Wilm, DE. 19802.
