Mr. Russell Gesner Morey, 86, husband of the late Julia Arnold Morey and a resident of Lewes, DE, formerly of New York, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore in Onancock, VA.

Born June 25, 1927 in Paterson, NJ, he was a son of the late Edmond Morey and Earlene Gesner Morey Harrison. Mr. Morey was an agent and later a manager in the travel industry. He served his country in the United States Navy; was a member of Saint George's Chapel in Harbeson, DE; a member of the Walpack Historical Society in New Jersey; the Lewes Historical Society in Lewes; and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Lewes.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Morey was predeceased by his oldest son, Christopher Morey. Survivors include Christopher's wife, Rebecca of Pawcatuck, CT; his children, Tim Morey and wife Noami of East Marion, NY, Peter Morey and wife Peggy of Easton, MD, Andrew Morey and wife Susan of Melfa, VA, and Matthew Morey and fiancée Dawn Scott of Fairfax, CA; a brother, David K. Harrison of Greenwich, CT; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca Foster, Missy Latawiec, Christa Jimenez, and Russell, Douglas, Sara, Casey, Addison, Sarah Catherine, Susannah and Christopher Morey; and eleven great-grandchildren, Ryan and Zachary Wing, Kobe Morey, Kylie, Jackson and Tucker Latawiec, Fiona, Tristan and Quinlin Main, and Ayden and Parker Jimenez.

A memorial service will be conducted from Saint George's Chapel, 20274 Beaver Dam Road, Harbeson, DE 19951, on Sunday, August 25, at 2 pm, with Father Max Wolf officiating. Niche interment of cremains will follow the service in the church columbarium, located in All Saints' Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals On Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth, 32409 Lewes Georgetown Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, or to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc., 111 W. 11th St., Suite 3, Wilmington, DE 19801.
