Betty Jackson Obituary
Mrs Betty May Jackson Chesterfield Mrs Betty May Jackson of Chesterfield has passed away at Calow Hospital with daughter Jane at her side, aged 84 years.
Born in Stonegravels, Chesterfield, Betty has been a lifelong local resident. She was one of five girls born to
Peter and Vera Green.
Betty worked as a Tea Trolley Lady at AGD, before that Farrows, Permic, general bar work, cleaning jobs and catering.
She enjoyed watching Tv including The Chase and had a passion for animal programmes. She also enjoyed listening to music - Radio 2, reading, seeing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty would say she had a good life, she enjoyed meeting people, she was involved in Newbold Working Mens Club, catering, doing the Bingo for Ian on a Sunday lunch, helped run Newbold over 55's Club, doing day trips, quizzes, Bingo, Meals and had a wide range of friends here.
She enjoyed going out for a coffee and scone at Hackney House, then a run up to Cutthorpe to see the lambs in the Spring.
She had in the past two dogs, Yorkies - Pip and Meg, who she adored.
No flowers but donations may be made to Dogs Trust or RSPCA Chesterfield via funeral directors.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Norman. She leaves behind her children and their partners Peter and Angela, Philip and Anita, David and Carol, Jane and Larry, Debbie and Mark, Darrell and Wendy, her ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandhildren, three sisters, nieces and nephews.
