Richard Leon "Rick" Duncan Nov. 23, 1947-Nov. 30, 2012 Resident of Knights Ferry A graduate of Sunnyvale High School, June 1966, Rick was also the youngest pilot, at age 17, to fly solo into the Porterville (Ca.) Airport. Rick enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1968 and was stationed in Japan for two years, serving on a flight crew that flew reconnaissance over Vietnam and Thailand. He was later stationed in Bremerton, Wash., and San Diego, Ca. He was a member of the California Highway Patrol from 1973 to 1981. In recent years, he was self-employed and in sales with a lighting company. Married Sharon DeLap, Oct. 26, 1968; divorced 1981. Rick is survived by his children Bryan Duncan and, by a subsequent marriage, Chad and Krystal Chilton. His grandchildren are Sebastian and Jazmyne Duncan, Medford, Minn. Rick will be greatly missed by all his many friends, especially the 10 Buckaroos. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the or any .
