Laatsch, Earl H.

Earl H. Laatsch, 93 of Wauwatosa, Wis., formerly of Clintonville, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at the Lutheran Home in Wauwatosa.

Earl was born on Jan. 6, 1920, in Clintonville, as the son of the late Arthur H. and Minnie (Hein) Laatsch. As a young man, Earl entered the United States Air Force in 1942. He served in the Southwest Pacific and was discharged in 1945. At an early age, Earl was learning carpentry from his father. Upon his return from the U.S. Air Force, he moved to Neenah, where he worked as a carpenter, and moved to Memphis, TN in 1950. He was united in marriage to Julanne Sannes on January 3, 1976. The couple then moved back to Clintonville in 1986, where they were members of the Christus Lutheran Church for many years. Earl was a member of the Clintonville American Legion Post #63. In 2006 they moved to an assisted living residence in Green Bay. Julanne preceded Earl in death on July 14, 2012. Earl loved woodworking, and enjoyed playing the accordion & harmonica.

Survivors include his daughter, Alyce Rexses, Clute, Texas; his sister, Adeline Krueger, Milwaukee.

Also survived by his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-children, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julanne; a brother, Roland; and a sister, Myrtle Lueck.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville, with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Military honor rites will be conducted at the funeral home following the service by members of the American Legion Post #63 and VFW Post #664 of Clintonville. Interment will follow at the Graceland Cemetery also in Clintonville.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, Earl's family has requested that donations be sent to the American Legion Post #63, 20 Memorial Circle, Clintonville, WI 54929. An online guestbook can be found for Earl at
