Jean C. Bedore Obituary
Jean C. Bedore

Green Bay - Jean Bedore (Novak), passed away on October 16, 2019, surrounded by her family. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Clara and Rudy Novak, her sister Marie Gilson and her brother Don Novak. A native of Green Bay, Wisconsin for her entire life, she graduated from West High School in 1948. Jean married Edward C. Bedore on June 13, 1953, and together they had three children.

Jean dedicated her career to the city she lived in, working as a switchboard operator, and later in probate, for the Brown County Courthouse. She retired as Deputy Register in 1991, and worked part time in a few different roles, including as a bailiff, at the courthouse. Jean had a passion for helping her community, and spent countless hours volunteering for the Salvation Army, both while she was working and during her retirement. Her family will always remember her love for getting together during the holidays, her passion for thrift shopping and her famous dance skills that would come out when they least expected them to. A true Wisconsinite through and through, she loved a good Old Fashioned and treating her kids and grandkids to dinner at her favorite supper clubs.

Jean is survived by her children: Edward (Kathleen) Bedore, Lisa (Bruce) Wilson and Todd (Gretchen) Bedore. Jean loved her kids dearly, and always said, "Ed was my first born, Lisa was my only girl, and Todd was my baby." She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Chris (Lori) Bedore, Ashley (Ateet) Adhikari, Carly (Ryan) Zutter, Andrew Wilson, Jessica Bedore, Cassandra Bedore and Kelsey (Adam) Rice; and her great-grandchild Liam Bedore (Chris and Lori). She is also survived by five nephews and two special people in her life, niece Sandy VandenBoomen and sister-in-law Ruth Novak.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Woodside Manor, who cared for Jean as she transitioned to assisted living, and to all of the nurses and angels at Unity Hospice who kept her comfortable in her final days.

Visitation will take place at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, October 21. The Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
