Boyce L. "Moe" Benjamin

Boyce Lee "Moe" Benjamin, 79, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Medical Center after an extended illness.

Born on March 18, 1933 in Liberty, SC, he was the son of the late Adie L. and Nita Greene Benjamin.

After attending Liberty and Fountain Inn High Schools, he graduated from Parker High School in 1952 continuing his football career at Mars Hill College and The University of South Carolina. He was a graduate of the School of Consumer Banking at the University of Virginia. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army and a member Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Mr. Benjamin retired from American Federal Bank after forty years in banking. He enjoyed frequent meetings with his longtime friends at Tommy's Ham House and always had a joke to tell to bring laughter and joy to everyone who knew him.

Surviving are his wife of fifty two years, Furmandean Angel Benjamin; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Cindy Benjamin of Greenville; very special grandson Jacob Benjamin of Greenville; a special grand dog, Cooper Benjamin; sister-in-law, Nancy Benjamin of Easley; two nieces, and six nephews.

Mr. Benjamin was predeceased by his parents and his brother Harold W. Benjamin of Greenville.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. A funeral service celebrating his life will be officiated by Pastor Gary L Safrit on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 1:30 pm in the Downtown Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Pall bearers will be Glynn Capell, Lee Matthews, Terrell Cobb, Gary Benjamin, Justin Benjamin and Taylor Benjamin.

The family is at the home of Brad and Cindy Benjamin, 109 Argonne Drive, Greenville.
