Leo J. Embry
North Logan - Leo James Embry, age 60, passed away peacefully of complications related to dementia on May 25, 2014, in Denver, Colorado, surrounded by family. Born in Palo Alto, California, on January 13, 1954, and raised in North Logan, Leo enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and later graduated B.S. Magna Cum Laude in Electrical Engineering from USU. He was employed by Hewlett-Packard for 28 years, principally in northern Colorado. As a project manager, Leo played a critical role in developing HP hardware.
Leo met Rita Riley the love of his life at Skanchy's Market when they were USU students; they married in 1983. Leo was a proud father, the ultimate handyman, and an avid swing dancer. The consummate engineer, Leo's approach to most problems was to "write a list".
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, Bertis Lloyd and Anna E. (Coulson) Embry. He is survived by Rita Rose (Riley), his wife of 30 years; children Melissa Rose (Michael Murray), Anna Ruth and Ryan Leo (Lauren Perkins); granddaughter Madeline Rose; siblings Lloyd (Kim), Lydia, Janet and Jessie.
Services were held on May 30, 2014, with burial in Grandview Cemetery, Fort Collins, Colorado.
