Michael John Kissinger

Michael John Kissinger, 67, of Kiel, died Tuesday, December 3, 2013.

He was born November 24, 1946 in Sheboygan, son of Jean (Schultz) Kissinger-Pfeiffer and the late Lloyd Kissinger.

Michael was a 1965 graduate of Kiel High School and attended college at Lawrence University.

Michael was an outstanding track athlete in high school breaking his fathers long standing long jump record, a record that still stands today.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in both San Antonio, TX and South Korea. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Michael was a member of the Kiel VFW post #6707 and the American Numismatic Association.

He collected coins and coin books as well as soda & beer bottles. He also was an avid newspaper reader.

Survivors include his mother, Jean Kissinger-Pfeiffer, a resident of Libby's House, Chilton, one sister, Mary (Richard) Thomson, Freedom, PA, two nephews, Michael Thomson, Pittsburgh, PA, Matthew (Katie) Thomson, Athens, OH, stepbrother, Tom Pfeiffer, Pittsfield, MA, stepsister, Lynette Pfeiffer, Colorado Springs, CO, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Kissinger, stepfather, Ralph Pfeiffer and two aunts, Louise Cerveny and Helen Kissinger-Hingiss.

According to Michael's wishes he has donated his remains to the University of Wisconsin Medical College, Madison for research.

A memorial service for Michael will be held at a later date.
