He brought that love into the lives of generations of teenagers as a history teacher at Woodrow Wilson High, where he taught for 35 years. He also taught at Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Middlesex Community College, and hosted history seminars at the First Church of Christ Congregational in Middletown. Carl spent his retirement years avidly reading his books, nurturing his gardens, fishing, visiting the gym, traveling the world, and pursuing his culinary interests. He was a devoted family man. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Carla Otfinoski Carpenter and son-in-law, William, of Middletown; his son, Joel Otfinoski and daughter-in-law, Shaleen, of Cohasset, MA; two grandchildren, Ella and Cole Otfinoski; two sisters, Helen Otfinoski Rogalsky, of Middletown, and Alexandria Otfinoski Binkowski of Miami, FL, and many nieces and nephews.
