DESJEAN, Jerome Joseph
Jerome Joseph Desjean, 63, of Westminster, MA. died of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma on Monday, (February 18), in the Veterans Medical Center Hospital in West Roxbury. MA. Jerome was born in Fitchburg, on Aug. 5, 1949 a son of the late Doris (Cattel) Desjean, He was a graduate of Fitchburg Vocational High School in FItchburg, MA and attended Mt. Wachusett Community College and Fitchburg State College. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Vietnam, Germany and the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station in Colorado Springs, CO. Jerome was awarded a citation and commendation medal for his services while stationed at the Tan Son Nhut Air Force Base in Vietnam. He was a member of the V.F.W. and D.A.V. Jerome worked for the U. S. Postal Service, Massachusetts District Office, for 31 years as a Financial Systems Coordinator. He is survived by his wife, Donna Desjean; two sisters and their husbands, Carla Desjean-Bastian and her husband, Walter of Chevy Chase, MD, Antonia Desjean-Martin and her husband, Richard and niece Ashley of Leesburg, FL; and predeceased by his brother Michael. He is also survived by his uncle and aunt, Charles and Barbara Cattel of Hartford, CT, his aunt Elena Crotty of Leominster, MA and, being from a large Italian family, more than 100 cousins.
Please join Jerome's family at the celebration of his life to be held from the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg, MA on Friday, Feb. 22, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Anthony di Padua Church, 84 Salem St., Fitchburg, MA. Calling hours are from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Please ride your motorcycle or drive your classic car.
