Kenneth B. Lockwood Obituary

Kenneth B. Lockwood, 68, of Berlin and Mystic, CT passed away at Wednesday, (March 26, 2014) after a year long courageous battle with a rare form of neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. He was born on August 1, 1945 in New Britain to the late Willis and Ellen Lockwood. Ken graduated from Berlin High School in 1963. He joined the U.S. Army reserves in 1965 to 1971. Ken was a member of the Auto Body Association of CT and the owner of Kenwood Auto Body for 45 years in Berlin. He was a past member of the Tri-State Canyon Shootout and an avid fisherman - and most enjoyed the long trip out to the deep blue ocean hunting for that big tuna with his good buddies listening to music and fishing stories. He also enjoyed snowmobiling with his wife and friends in Old Forge, NY. If you were in trouble and Ken believed in you he would have fought the fight with you. Ken will be sadly missed and remembered as a loving husband, a loyal friend and a big practical joker to many. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 28 years, Nancy Luginbuhl Lockwood of Berlin, his sister Ellen Landino, of Reno, NV, his stepson Chad Bartulis of Southington, his sister-in-law and brother-in-laws, Janice and Arno Groot, Chris Luginbuhl, Bruce and Karen Luginbuhl and Barry and Glenna Luginbuhl, and his mother in law Lillian Luginbuhl all of Ellington, CT. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Ken was predeceased by his nephew, David Landino of Reno, NV. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 7 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, CT. Burial will be at the family's discretion.
