DENNISON, William Thomas

William Thomas Dennison, 86, of Vernon, passed away December 5, 2012 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his soul mate, caregiver and devoted wife, Jen. Bill was born on June 20, 1926, son of the late Elizabeth Kiley and John Landino. Bill lived in West Hartford and later moved to Vernon in 1985. Bill served in the U.S. Army Air force in World War 2 and then received his pilot license. Looking up in the sky you could see him flying carefree over Block Island in a 140 single engine Cessna. Bill graduated from the University of Hartford with an Engineering Degree and became one of the top aircraft designer engineers at United Technology where he was the creator of over 20 patents. After 40 years at United Technology, Bill retired to become a consultant and opened up his own business called ATDAS; inventing, creating and selling his many specialty engineering software packages to companies throughout the United States. Bill was an avid skier, skiing like a pro until age 75; spending a lot of time at his Ski Chalet in Quechee, Vermont and taking yearly ski trips out west. Bill was predeceased by his two dear brothers, Thomas and John Dennison. He leaves his loving daughters Cindy and her husband Peter Kubicki and Grace and her husband Art DeAtienza; two wonderful grandchildren Jessica and Vinny; his dear nieces, nephew, cousins, good friends, and his favorite cousin, Noreen. Bill also leaves a very dear friend, Anna Menotti Dennison, the mother of his two children.
There will be a Memorial Service for William Thomas Dennison at St John's Episcopal Church, 523 Hartford Turnpike (rt. 30), Vernon, CT at 11 a.m. on Saturday December 8, 2012. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the . Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, Vernon has been entrusted with arrangements.
