SOKOLSKY, Roman Roman Sokolsky, 87, formerly of Hartford, husband of the late Ann (Pryshlak) Sokolsky, passed away on Monday (October 20, 2008). Born on January 9, 1921 in Zavaliv, Ukraine, he was the son of the late Petro and Maria (Szkira) Sokolsky. Roman was a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Hartford, the Ukrainian National Home and the St. Michael's Senior Citizens Society. He was also a member of the Ukrainian Patriarchal Society and the Ukrainian War Veterans-Brotherhood of former soldiers of the Ukrainian National Army. He is survived by his children, sons Roman Sokolsky and Orest Sokolsky and his wife Lucy; his daughter Oresta Baldassari; grandchildren Alana and Nina Baldassari and Alexander Sokolsky and a great-granddaughter, Livia. A Mass of Requiem Liturgy will be held Saturday, October 25 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 135 Wethersfield Ave, Hartford. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Ukrainian Cemetery, Glastonbury. Calling hours will be TODAY from 5-8 p.m. with a Panachyda service at 7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Veterans' News" in care of Orest Sokolsky, 9 Stakey Farm Road, Southington, CT 06489 or to a charity of your choice. Oresta, Orest, Roman & Families, Please accept my sympathy on the passing of your Father, he was a very kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed. I just found out that he passed, I was out of town, again please accept my condolences.

Extending sincerest condolences on
the loss of your father.
Your Dad was a good kind man which I have many fond memories growing up in the Hartford South End, Ukrainian Church, School and Scouts, Sunday picnics at the CT. shore, Vacations in Wildwood, NJ.
Our cirlces have become smaller.
Hope the pain does not linger and the healing process is not far ahead.

Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. He was a warm, kind man who always treated all of us with love. When we visited them in Hartford and Florida we were made to feel so very welcomed. We are sorry we are unable to attend the services but we will keep you all in our prayers.
