Elizabeth "Betsy" Boggio Obituary
Elizabeth "Betsy" (Vershon) Boggio, 82, beloved wife of the late Riccardo "Rick" J. Boggio, Sr., passed away peacefully on April 12, 2019. Born March 18, 1937 in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late Seymour and Grace (Brown) Vershon. She and Rick married on August 24, 1957, eventually settling in Windsor, CT where they raised their family. Betsy worked for New England and Southern New England Telephone for many years in addition to being a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, reading, playing golf, her prayer groups and traveling when she could. She is survived by her daughter Dr. Elizabeth Boggio-Visone, APRN and her husband Anthony of Windsor, sons Riccardo J. Boggio, Jr. of Windsor Locks, Michael J. Boggio and Ginger Gough of Windsor, and Matthew G. Boggio and his wife Laura of Southington. She also leaves her grandchildren, Anthony Visone, III and his wife Avani, Briana Visone, Michael Boggio, Jr., Sarah Boggio, Mia Ortega-Boggio, Riccardo J. Boggio, III, Austin Boggio; four great-granddaughters, McKenzie, Phoenix, River, Aurora; and a brother, Seymour M. Vershon, III and his wife Dev. In addition to her parents, Betsy was predeceased by her daughter Diane Boggio and sister Phyllis Boissenin.Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at Carmon Poquonock Funeral Home, 1816 Poquonock Ave., Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday,10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of St. Damien of Molokai Parish, 1747 Poquonock Ave., Windsor with burial following in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock.
