Robert T. McGregor, born and raised in Klamath Falls by Glenn and Ruth McGregor, passed away June 9, 2014. He attended Sacred Heart Academy and graduated from Klamath Union High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Coral Sea during Vietnam. Following his proud service to the Navy, he began a career as a professional firefighter with the Klamath Falls Fire Department, where he also served as an I.A.F.F. Local 890 representative. Rob retired as a captain from Klamath County Fire District No. 1 in 2003 after 27 years of dedicated service. He continued his distinguished career with the I.A.F.F. as a district field service representative until 2011. Rob loved to spend his free time camping, hunting, fishing, exploring the Oregon high desert and being with his family. He is survived by his siblings, Dave and Lonna, Kas, Susan, Carol, and Laura; his six sons, Clay, Chris (Lana), Terry, Bryan (Katie), Bret (Rachel), and Robbie; and his 10 grandchildren. A vigil will be at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Friday, June 13, with services to follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 14. For anyone interested in donating, there will be a charity fund set up in Rob's name in the coming weeks.
