Margaret Frances Burton Bleiler Margaret Frances Burton Bleiler, beloved, precious and treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at home with her children by her side. She was 90 years old. Margaret was born in Peoria, Illinois. As a girl, she moved to the Chicago suburb of Wheaton. She attended Lindenwood College in St. Charles, Missouri, for two years befo re transferring to Beloit College in Wisconsin, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Shortly after graduation, she married her college sweetheart, Paul Bleiler, with whom she shared a wonderful marriage of over 67 years. Margaret and Paul moved to California in 1946, and settled in Ontario in 1948. Margaret loved being a homemaker, and was very involved in local community and school organizations. She was active with PTA, San Antonio Hospital Auxiliary, National Charity League, Red Hill Country Club, Samaritan Counseling Center, Ontario Woman's Club and other civic and charitable organizations. She was a long-time member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Upland. Margaret was a vivacious hostess, and enjoyed entertaining. Some of her favorite activities included gardening, cooking, reading, and tennis. She was a fine bridge player, and played with groups of friends for many years. She and Paul cherished their time with the family, and particularly loved the many trips they took with their grandchil dren. Margaret was adored by her family, and loved by all of her friends. She was optimistic, cheerful, caring and generous. Her positive outlook and gracious nature always lifted the spirits of those around her. She was predeceased by her husband Paul, and is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Bette and Skip Runner, and Diane and Russ Hatch; sisters Betty Jane Strong and Mary Deinzer; grandchildren Linda Runner Perkovich, Tim Hatch (Annette), Michael Runner (Brandie), Greg Hatch (Lea), Jennifer Hatch Bressler (John) and Eric Hatch; nieces Margaret Strong and Caroline Keller; and nine great-grandchildren. Private services were held at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Upland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to VNA Hospice of Southern California, 150 W. First St., Claremont, CA 91711; or San Antonio Community Hospital Foundation.
