Charles W. Link Jr. Obituary

Dr. Charles William Link, Jr.

80, Greenwood, passed away July 28, 2014. He was born September 10, 1933 in Rockport, Indiana to Charles William Link, Sr. and Norma (Franzman) Link who predecease him.

Charles met his wife, Linda Zopf, on a blind date while she was studying to be a nurse and he was studying to be a doctor. Charles and Linda married on August 11, 1957. After he graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1960, he and childhood friend, Dr. Joseph Young, opened a family medical practice in Greenwood, IN. Charles and Joe both had the good fortune of marrying registered nurses - who they enlisted to be their only staff in the beginning of the practice. Charles and Linda and Joe and Betty were close friends for the remainder of their lives. Later, Dr. Charles Richert joined the practice and continues it today.

Charles loved his family. While he was a great father to his three children, his true calling was being a grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and proudly attended countless sports and music events. He leaves many happy memories. Charles was a member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church. He was a loyal friend, an avid gardener, a history buff, and loved to travel.

Charles was preceded in death by his lovely and beloved wife, Linda F. Link; and his grandson, Nicholas Pinnow. He is survived by his daughters, Martha (John) Pinnow and Amy (James) Karozos, and his son, Charles William (Julie)Link III; grandchildren, Stephanie, Sam, and Peter Karozos, Mimi Pinnow, and Leah (Austin) Alexander; great grandchildren, Jessica and Nolan Alexander; brother, Thomas (Judith) Link; and sister, Janet Haynes.
