Diessner, Heinz W. Went Home to his Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Platha, Germany on November 29, 1924. Devoted husband to Gloria (nee Kaufmann), for nearly 63 years. Beloved dad to Dale (Helen), Denise (Michael) Colombo, and Dean (Debbie) Diessner. Proud grandpa to Dale (Lori), Greg, Michael (Lisa) Colombo, Dena (Scott) Wilkes, Dayna (Tony) Navarro, Derek (Camille Connolly), and Devin (Holly Nerbun) Diessner. Loving great-grandpa to Ashley, Danielle, Dakota, Lexi, Kaden, Elliana, Kailee, Abriana and Nicholas. Great-great-grandpa to Ruger. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Memorial visitation Saturday, March 23, at Greenfield Park Lutheran Church, 1236 S. 115th Street, West Allis, from 9:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Highland Memorial. Heinz was a WWII Army Corps veteran who honorably served in North Africa, Italy, and the Philippines. He was a past Commander of VFW Post 3091 and a past President of AFSCME Local 882. He was also a pension board member ad retiree of Milwaukee County Parks. The family would like to thank Dr. Ben George, Dr. Sue, and Megan from Froedtert Hospital Cancer Center and the staff from Horizon Hospice for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Greenfield Park Lutheran Church appreciated.
