Quann, Richard J. Beloved husband, dear father, grandfather (Papa), cherished friend, and proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Tech / Sergeant Joseph Richard "Rich" Quann passed over in peace on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at the age of 91 in Glendale. Born in Roodhouse, IL, on October 21, 1922, Rich is survived by his love of 68 years, Marjorie Lee (nee Jones); two children, daughter Hollie (Armin) Nankin, and son Richard Quann; three grandchildren, Joshua (Julie) Nankin, Katie Quann, Matthew (Eliza) Quann, and three great-grandchildren Yishai and Ollie Nankin, and Nola Quann, and by his many close friends at Glendale Lakes and Laurel Oaks. Rich proudly served in the 437 Troop Carrier Group from May 1942 through July 1945, surviving the Normandy Invasion in June 1944, and serving his country staging and taking charge of transport hospitals in England and France. One of his proudest moments was taking part in the November, 2011 Washington DC Honor Flight for Veterans. Rich will be remembered for his love of family, kindness towards others, his infectious laugh and great sense of humor. The family will always cherish the many 4th of July celebrations shared together --- Papa loved the 4th of July! Many thanks to Dr. Jose Franco and staff at Froedert Hospital, loving therapists at Greensquare Integrative Health Center, caregivers from Horizon Home Care & Hospice, and private nurse, friend and caregiver, Mrs. Rhonda Schutkin. Funeral services with full Military Honors will take place on Tuesday, July 9 at 1:00 PM at the Southern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St., Union Grove. Two Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 10:30 AM at Glendale Lakes Condominiums, 1600 W. Green Tree Road, Glendale, and 2:30 PM at Laurel Oaks Retirement Center, 1700 W. Bender Road, Glendale. Memorial gifts are welcome to The Fisher House Wisconsin c/o Memorials will be used to help build a home on the grounds of the Clement J.
