Buerger, Richard R. "Dick" Born to Eternal Life Thurs., Dec. 5, 2013, at the age of 80 years. Loving husband of Marion (nee Thiel) for 59 years. Devoted father of Cynthia (Steve) Zemplinski, Kathleen (Paul) Schlecht, Christine (Steve) Midthun and Bonnie (Michael) Mazur. Proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren. Further survived by his dear sister, Jane Kerr, and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death parents Dick and Nettie and brother George. Born in Milwaukee, WI Dick graduated from Rufus King High School. Following graduation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, he was hired by the Wisconsin Telephone Company. After four months on the job, he fulfilled a college ROTC commitment to serve in the U.S. Army for two years, after which he returned to the Telephone Co. for a 35 year career. Thirteen years of that career was spent in Neenah and Appleton, WI where he became very active in Community Theater with lead roles in a number of Broadway musical comedy plays. Dick was always active in church work, serving as president of three different congregations and other positions of leadership for Wisconsin Lutheran H.S. and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Visitation will be Fri., Dec. 13 at CHRIST EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, W240 N3103 Pewaukee Road, Pewaukee from 9-11AM, with services to follow at 11 AM. Private interment Wisconsin Memorial Park.
