Robert LeRoy Goman Notice
Goman, Robert LeRoy Entered Eternal Life on May 19, 2012, at the age of 97. Resident of Alexian Village of Milwaukee, former longtime resident of Whitefish Bay. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen (nee Kunitz). Loving father of Neal (Charlotte Forste) Goman, John (Susan) Goman, and Bill (Janet) Goman. Caring grandfather of Charlie, Sarah, Bob, Kristin, Lindsay, and Ryan. Dear brother of Catherine (Rusty) Russell and the late Olive (Harry) Linder. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob was born on August 10, 1914, in Holyoke, MA and graduated from Northwestern University in 1936. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during WWII rising to the rank of Major and awarded the Bronze Star during the Philippines Campaign. He was an entrepreneur, starting two companies and was awarded a patent for a method of glue application in a food packaging system. Bob was active in the Boy Scouts and leader of Troop #72, at the United Methodist Church of Whitefish Bay where he was a member for many years. After retiring from Acme Equipment, an industrial finishing equipment distributor, Bob and Helen traveled extensively, settling in Blue Eye, MO. In 2001, Bob and Helen moved back to Milwaukee to take up residence at Alexian Village. Visitation will take place in the Chapel of the Holy Spirit at Alexian Village, 9301 N. 76th St., Milwaukee, WI 53223, on Saturday, May 26, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton, WI. Memorials in Bob's name may be made to Alexian Village. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful care given to Bob by all the staff of Alexian Village and VITAS Hospice.
