Howard Buffenmeyer ELIZABETHTOWN On Sunday, September 22, 2013, Howard A. Buffenmeyer, husband of the late Kay V. Wiest Buffenmeyer, died peacefully at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pa. Howard (Buffy) was a long-time resident of Schaefferstown. He and wife Kay loved being a part of the Schaefferstown community. Howard was a member of St. Paul's U.C.C. Church in Schaefferstown. He was a Mason with the Williamson Lodge in Womelsdorf, and served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska during peacetime between the Korean and Vietnam wars. Howard worked as a restaurant equipment salesperson for many years and retired from the PA Turnpike Commission. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Howard enjoyed gardening, antiquing/sales and auctions, hunting with friends at the Lebanon Valley deer camp near Huntingdon, and sharing wonderful beach vacations with his family and friends. Howard is survived by his daughter, Amy Weik; son Adam, husband of Allyson (Hoffman); grandchildren Olivia, Tanner, and Addison; brother, Monroe; sisters, Margaret, wife of Carl Wenger, Christine Dull, Lois, wife of Mark (Skip) Heisey; and many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by loving wife Kay; son-in-law Dale H. Weik, Jr.; parents Monroe and Ellen (Steffy); sisters, Verna and Alma; brothers, Richard and Harold; and several brothers-in-law. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday September 27, 2013, at the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Howard's memory to: The Masonic Village, c/o Office of Gift Planning - the Arlene Hughes Fund, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
