Marie Marshall Bennett Owosso Marie Marshall Bennett, 81 of Owosso, Michigan passed away peacefully into the arms of the lord on Wednesday December 18, 2013. She was born on March 26, 1932 in Lansing, Michigan to Edwin and Eleanor Sedlon. Marie played Violin in High School with the Lansing Symphony; showing much talent and promise she received a scholarship to the Julliard School of Performing Arts. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Columbia University in New York City. She also received Masters and Ed Specialist degrees from Michigan State University. She was also a proud to have been a member of Mensa. Marie was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Hanks Marshall of Syracuse, New York and is a widow of her second husband Orlie Lee Bennett. Marie was a longtime school teacher in the Lansing Public Schools. She taught 2nd grade at Allen Street School and 6th grade at Pattengill Middle School. Marie was an avid antique collector with mechanical banks and antique clocks. Marie loved to travel. She was very blessed to travel extensively with family and friends within the US and abroad. Marie will be greatly missed; she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her older sister Louise "Tenzi" Kelly and three children: James (Anna) Marshall, Thomas (Sandy) Marshall and Amy (Paul) Satterly and four grandchildren. Mark and Sara Satterly ; Rayna Fe and Joseph Marshall. She is also survived by her step children Tim and Karen Bennett; Lee and Meg Bennett; Kathy and Scott Bodell and her grandchildren: Amy, Betsy, Craig, and Alexandra Bennett and Caroline and Patrick Bodell. A celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
