Memorial services for John H. Wilson Sr., 77, of Lufkin, will be held at a later date. Mr. Wilson was born June 20, 1938 in Chester, Texas, the son of the late Sarah Coy (Riley) and James Levi Wilson. He passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 in a local hospice facility. Mr. Wilson was a caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a 1956 graduate of Diboll High School. He retired after 38 years of service with Temple Inland, where he was a millwright. He enjoyed reading science fiction and was a lifelong fan of the Houston Astros. Mr. Wilson also enjoyed traveling. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Wilson of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, John H. Wilson Jr. and Regina, Michael T. Wilson and Tiffiney, all of Lovelady; daughter and son-in-law, Tamesha Reyes and Mike of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, Jarrod S. Wilson and Stephanie of Lufkin; sister, Alfreda "Billie" Robinson of Diboll; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Jessie Stanley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Wilson's memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W.
