Kermit G. Lilly
Kermit G. Lilly, 86, of Bethlehem, formerly of Nazareth, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the St. Lukes Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Deiter) Lilly, with whom he shared 28 years of marriage last September 21. Born in Nazareth on July 9, 1926, he was a son of the late Grant and Cora (Werkheiser) Lilly. Kermit honorably served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed by Lone Star Cement Co. where he worked as a maintenance supervisor and later as a foreman, before retiring in 1989 after more than 43 years of service. Kermit was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed gardening. He was a life-member of the East Lawn Volunteer Fire Co., the East Bath Rod & Gun Club, the Nazareth V.F.W., the North American Hunting Club, as well as a member of the N.R.A. and St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, Nazareth. Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Nancy; he is survived by his children, son, Keith Lilly of Allentown; and daughter, Brenda Uhler and her husband, Brad, of Bushkill Township; a stepson, Jim Frickert and his wife, Lisa, of Davenport, FL; four grandchildren, Brian Uhler and his wife, Jamie, of New Jersey, Kevin Lilly and his wife, Heather, of Roseto, Justin Lilly and his wife, Katie, of Nazareth, and Marissa Lilly and her fiance, Bryan Smith, of Bethlehem; three great-grandchildren, Claire, Nicholas, and Sophia; three sisters, Lucille Godshalk of Tannersville, Lorraine Kemmerer and her husband, Lester, and Jean Reeser and her husband, Andy, both of Nazareth; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Erna (Nagel) Lilly; as well as his three brothers, Warren, Allen, and Marvin Lilly. Services: A memorial service in celebration of Kermits life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2 p.m., in the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Broad Street, Nazareth, PA 18064. There will be no calling hours.
