Norwood J. Woody Metcalf, 60, of Quakertown, passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 in Grand View Hospital, West Rockhill Township. He shared 34 years of marriage with his wife, Patricia (McGowan) Metcalf. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Martha A.(Griffiths) Metcalf of Gouldsboro, and the late Norwood J. Metcalf. Woody graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, Philadelphia, and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked for the Navy as a civilian in research and development at the Warminster Naval Air Development Center and NAVMAR in Warminster. He was a history buff and enjoyed physical fitness. Woody was a member of Central Moravian Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: In addition to his wife, daughters, Bryn A. Cressman and her husband, Jamie, of Hellertown, Shay K. Drumbore and her husband, Scott, of Sellersville; son, Ryan J. Metcalf of Fayetteville, N.C., currently serving with the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army; sisters, Bonnie L. Nathan and her husband, Bruce, of Larchmont, N.Y., Robyn L. Metcalf of Gouldsboro; brother, Jeffery S. Metcalf of Gouldsboro; grandchildren Austin, Tyler, Makayla, Avery and Maryn. Services: Family will receive friends from 9:30-10 a.m. on Friday, June 8 in the Old Chapel of Central Moravian Church, Heckewelder Place, Bethlehem, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem.
